1. Introduction and First Steps
When you download Top Heroes and start the game, the first thing you’ll see is the Adventure. Early on, the path is guided and mandatory. The most important thing is to avoid wasting resources that will be crucial later. Keep these rules in mind:
- Do not waste meat on Rare heroes (blue background). They are not worth upgrading and will never be used later.
- Do not spend diamonds to speed up processes early on. Waiting times are short and diamonds are too valuable.
Follow the flow of the Adventure, make progress, and avoid wasting resources on heroes or unnecessary speedups.
↑ Back to top2. Village and Buildings
After some time in Adventure, you’ll reach your Village. You’ll see multiple buildings to construct and upgrade. Initially upgrades are mandatory, but soon you’ll have freedom to choose priorities. Your number one goal must be to level up the Castle quickly, ideally to level 20–25. This unlocks essential buildings and allows higher hero and soldier levels.
Alongside the Castle, focus on Research Cottage, Hospital, Guild, and Training Ground (requirements for Castle upgrades). Don’t forget Barracks: every 5 levels, soldiers gain one level—this hugely boosts your queues.
For more details, see the Buildings page.
↑ Back to top3. Joining a Guild
From Castle level 7, you can join a Guild. This is crucial. Aim to join a top 3 guild in your server; if that’s not possible, at least top 10. Strong guilds are active, recruit active players, and remove inactive ones. Don’t worry—everyone in your server started around the same time, so you can catch up quickly.
3.1 Help and Speedups
Guild Help is a major advantage. Every time you start a construction or research, press Help: guildmates can reduce the timer for you. Always request and wait for help before using speedups. Speedups (construction, research, universal, etc.) are fine to use, but diamonds should not be used for speeding up. Use speedups wisely, after receiving all possible helps.
↑ Back to top4. Farming Resources
Main resources are Timber, Stone, and Ruby. They’re needed for nearly everything. The best early method is progressing in Adventure. When stuck, improve your lineup and try again.
Guild activities are also essential:
- Guild Secret Trial: mini-levels providing resources. Completing collectively gives extra rewards.
- Guild Expedition: one attempt daily. Use the Blessing button for buffs and 100 Guild Points. Spend Guild Points in the Guild Store.
Other sources include Expeditions, the Bounty Hall with missions every 8 hours, and Stages that unlock over time.
↑ Back to top5. Tavern and Hero Shards
Tavern Tokens allow you to obtain Hero Shards in the Tavern. Early game: use them freely. Heroes improve significantly when their stars are upgraded. Do not waste Legendary Universal Hero Shards early—save them for later.
↑ Back to top6. Heroes and Factions
Heroes belong to three factions: League, Horde, and Nature. See the Heroes page for details. Focus on one main queue with heroes from a single faction. This grants faction buffs and becomes even more critical with Season 1. Don’t try to balance all your queues—make one very strong.
- League: easiest to build early, but can be costly mid–long term, especially F2P.
- Horde: requires smart play; not strong immediately but very strong long term, usually less costly than League.
- Nature: hardest to build early. Early Nature heroes are weak and often replaced; strong only much later.

7. Spending Real Money
Top Heroes can be played free-to-play, spending little, or a lot. Regardless of budget, always buy Gold Blocks from the official Top Heroes website. Purchasing in-game gives fewer benefits. From the site you always get +5% Gold Blocks and milestone rewards. Then spend Gold Blocks in-game.
7.1 Best Purchases
- Monthly Pass: extra queue (Privilege Queue), Auto Hunt, doubled ad rewards, daily gifts. Most cost-effective. Buying Gold Blocks from the site also gives 30% discount on it as first milestone.
- Remove Ads (2$): permanent. Lets you claim daily ad rewards instantly. Great long-term value.
- Construction Queues: default 1; up to 3 more (2$, 10$, 20$). Permanent and very useful.
- Research Queue: default 1, max 2. Unlock second queue for 10$. Permanent.
- Adventure Begin (Best Price): cheap limited packs (3 versions) with great rewards over a few days.
- Packs: daily hero shard packs ~5$; useful only for bigger spenders.
- Skins: very powerful (global buffs). Legendary 30$, Mythic 100$. High spenders should prioritize.
- Wheel and Dice events: alternate weekly. Save tickets until Mythic heroes are included.
- Adventure Battle Pass: optional (15$, 20$, or both 30$). Strong boosts, not essential.
- Funds (Construction, Adventure, Power, Growth): good mid-spender value.
- Daily Special: choose hero shards; gives Star Gems (extremely valuable). Later even Mythic heroes appear here.
- Daily/Weekly Packs: low value for small spenders; medium/high spenders can consider.
- Diamond Store: never buy (same price as packs but without extra rewards).
- VIP Points: gained with every purchase; unlock perks but don’t buy just for VIP levels. Daily quests also give 5 VIP Points.
There will constantly be new packs and events to spend on, but the basics above are the most important for beginners.
↑ Back to top8. Events
Top Heroes has routine and one-time events. Early on, the most important is the Top Lord event. Simply by playing and raising your Influence, you unlock great rewards, including the Griffon Castle skin. Castle skins are rare, especially for F2P.
Boost Influence by assigning idle soldiers to unused heroes and upgrading Barracks to increase soldier levels. Other buildings like Warehouse, Tavern, and Watchtower can also provide quick Influence boosts.
- World Boss: daily, attack 5 times. No stamina cost, no losses. Grants fixed rewards plus minor ranking rewards—just do your 5 hits.
- Ruin Hunt: daily chest missions on the World Map. Do them all daily. Don’t spend diamonds refreshing early. Help guildmates (prioritize purple and gold). You can plunder others’ Ruin Hunts—prioritize legendary (gold) level 4 chests.
- Beginner-only events: Beginner Goals, Seven Day, Power Rush. Available only in the first days—complete them in time.
9. Research
Research is done in the Research Cottage. Early on, focus entirely on Combat Expertise. Complete it fully to unlock all other research trees. For details, check the Research page.
↑ Back to top11. Villagers
Every day, Villagers can be saved in your Village (and can appear in Adventure). Completing the first Daily Quest grants a ticket to spawn a Villager instantly. Once saved, assign Villagers in the Talent Hall to boost buildings. Early on, Quick Dispatch is fine; later, optimize assignments for better bonuses. See the Villagers page.
↑ Back to top12. Carriage and Plunder
You can dispatch 4 Carriages daily. Rarities: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Mythic. Always use the free refresh to seek good rewards, ideally Hero Shards. After 5 refreshes you are guaranteed a Legendary, and from Castle level 15 onwards, a 5% chance for Mythic. Mythic and Legendary Carriages never downgrade rarity. Aim to maximize shards, especially Universal Legendary Shards.
Mythic Carriages can be shared. Shared Carriages give full rewards to everyone and offer extra protection. Some servers adopt a rule not to attack full Mythic Carriages (5/5 members). If it’s not in your server, propose it—this guarantees safety for top rewards.
Plundering: you can attack 4 Carriages daily. Choose targets with the best rewards (usually Universal Legendary Shards). Failed attacks don’t consume attempts. Carriages can be attacked twice (three times if Mythic). Check Details before plundering to see if a Carriage is full; if server rules prohibit attacking full Mythics, don’t attack.

13. Guild Traits
In the Guild building under Traits, members can donate to unlock buffs. Donations regenerate every 30 minutes, up to 20 stored. Never let it cap at 20, or regeneration stops. You can donate with 10 diamonds each, but this isn’t worth it early. Every donation also gives Guild Points, usable in the Guild Store. For optimal spending, see the Store page.
↑ Back to top14. Stamina
Stamina is required for attacks on the World Map and regenerates over time. Two times daily you can claim 80 stamina (at least 4 hours apart). Monthly Privilege grants 50 stamina daily, or 100 with bonus. Stacks of 25 and 50 stamina exist and can be used freely early on. Avoid buying 150 stamina for 5$—poor value.
↑ Back to top15. World Map – Enemy, Resources, Rally
Click the magnifying glass on the World Map to find three sections:
- Enemy: fight Guards (Timber, Stone, Ruby) up to lvl 30 for resources. Useful early. Also, always attack Legend Stash 3 times daily for free rewards.
- Resources: first conquest gives a fixed reward. Leaving troops results in Gathering. Gather Ruby when possible (especially overnight). Timber and Stone are less valuable.
- Rally: fight bosses with guildmates. Great way to use stamina and get rewards. Joining rallies is free and first 50 daily give rewards—join as many as possible.
16. General Conclusion
Top Heroes rewards careful planning and saving resources. In the very beginning you can spend most items freely (except diamonds and Legendary Universal Shards). Later, the game shifts: you’ll spend resources strategically during events like Guild Race or Arms Guild Race to gain maximum points. This mindset—saving and spending only at the right times—is key to long-term success.

10. Social and World Chat
At Castle level 7, World Chat unlocks. Early on it’s noisy, but within days moderators will clean it up. It becomes a good communication channel. Invitation codes give minor rewards (some shards, equipment, diamonds) but are not game-changing. Use them if you have friends to invite; otherwise ignore.
